Arrival in Baku. Pick up from the airport and transfer to your hotel. After some rest, start Baku city tour from Martyrs' Lane – The Eternal Flame Memorial that leads to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the whole city.

Continue to the old part of the city and visit the main sights of Baku included in UNESCO World Heritage list:

Shirvanshahs Palace – one of the biggest monuments of Azerbaijan architecture and Maiden Tower - also known as Giz Galasi, which dates back to the 12th century.

Explore the rest of the old city: Juma Mosque, Double Gates, Bazar Square, Caravan Saray, etc.

Move to the new part of Baku and visit: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument and one of the famous symbols of modern Baku - Heydar Aliyev Center.

Finally, continue to Baku Boulevard and visit the National Azeri Carpets Museum. Overnight in Baku.

Today we will find out why Azerbaijan is called “The Land of Fire”. Tour starts at Absheron peninsula by visiting two of the most vivid examples of eternal fires in Azerbaijan:
  • Ateshgah – which means “The place of fire” in Azerbaijani language. This temple of fire-worshippers was constructed in the 17th-18th centuries at Surakhani village.
  • Yanardag – also known as burning mountain, with natural gas burning on its slope from ancient times.
Continue to Gobustan national reserve. Explore the cave drawings – petroglyphs from the Stone Age on a rocky massif and visit the outdoor Museum of petroglyphs. Visit a plateau full of mud volcanoes of Gobustan. More than half the world’s mud volcanoes (around 300) are found in Azerbaijan. Drive back to Baku for overnight.

In the morning, depart Baku and drive to Shamakhi. On the way, stop at Diri Baba Mausoleum in Maraza settlement. The building of the mausoleum built into a rock is dating back to 1402. It is an impressive example of Shirvan architecture school.

Next, visit Shamakhi Juma Mosque - one of the most ancient mosques on the territory of Azerbaijan constructed in the VIII century. Continue to Yeddi Gumbaz mausoleum (Seven Domes) – tomb of royal family members of Shamakhi Khanate built in the 17-18th centuries.

Drive to Lahich (Lahij) – the ancient village, founded in III-IV B.C.,  is located 1375 m above sea level. Mostly famous for its craftsmanship. During the walking tour, you will find many workshops where you can buy handmade souvenirs, carpets or other local products.

Drive back to Baku. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to the Baku international airport. Departure.
